Oklahoma City fire crews have knocked down an apartment fire in the southwest metro.

The call came in for the fire at the Reding Square Apartments in the 4000 block of S. Douglas Ave just before 6 a.m. Monday. The main body of the fire was quickly knocked down but some evacuations were reportedly underway.

Officials tell FOX 25 that a woman used her hand to knock out the glass in the window of one apartment to save her boyfriend. Firefighters then entered the building and pulled that man to safety through a first-floor window.

That man is now recovering in the hospital from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters say the fire is being ruled accidental and caused by "smoking materials." Damage estimates were set at $7,000.
