OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A former bank robber who cut off his ankle monitor while under supervision has been taken into custody.
Oklahoma City police say 43-year-old Jackie Shaw Jr. has been taken into custody. Just after noon Sept. 5, police said they were searching for Shaw on a federal warrant. In 2005, Shaw was convicted of two counts of bank robbery and one count of use of a firearm in relation to a bank robbery. He was let out of prison on a supervised release in October 2016.
Court records show that Shaw began violating conditions of his release in late August. On Aug. 28, he failed to report at his approved home address and the next day he reportedly violated conditions by cutting off the strap of his GPS monitor. Shaw was living in Oklahoma City at the time.
