Deadly crash involving semi closes part of H.E. Bailey Turnpike
NEWCASTLE, Okla. (KOKH) —
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials say a man is dead after colliding with a semi early Wednesday morning.
According to OHP reports, around 4:30 a.m., 28-year-old Sean McCoy was traveling westbound on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike when he attempted to make a U-Turn. He was then struck by a semi and his vehicle rolled.
OHP officials say McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the semi was injured.
Authorities closed off the westbound lanes of the turnpike until about 6:30 a.m. when they reopened.
OHP says the crash is still under investigation.
