Crowd dispersed with pepper balls at BOK Center after cancellation of concert

Crowd dispersed with pepper balls at BOK Center after cancellation of concert (KTUL)

It was a startling sight, not the giant inflatable head of Travis Scott, but rather the sight of officers carrying pepper ball guns on the grounds of the BOK.

"Some officers inside notified us that there was a big crowd at the door," said TPD Sgt. Jeremy Noland.

A crowd that didn't take the news of the concert's cancellation very well.

"People were like breaking in, trying to get in there," said one woman.

"Start a riot over there, started throwing like barricades," said Jonathan Davila.

"I think they were having big fight over there or something, people were trying to get in, they were mad that Travis Scott didn't show up," said one man.

One of the front doors, smashed. It was that atmosphere which prompted action.

"Throwing stuff at the building and attempting to get into the building so we had to use pepper balls in order to assist the dispersement of the crowd," said Sgt. Noland.

Authorities says the crowd dispersed immediately as the smell infused the air.

"You could breath it all around this area," said one fan.

No arrests or injuries reported.

"Everything's under control and we're back to normal," said Sgt. Noland.

"Little disappointed, we'll be back though," said some fans.
