CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — The Cleveland County District Attorney's Office has filed charges of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary on Bobby Oliver Jr.
According to the affidavit, on February 14, the Moore Police Department (MPD) was contacted for a disturbance at a residence.
While officers were on the way to the scene, they were informed that the suspect forced entry into the residence, shot a person who was inside, and then fled in a blue Ford F-150.
Once officers arrived, the affidavit states that they found a 31-year-old male deceased in the back bedroom of the duplex.
The victim had 'several apparent gunshot wounds to his body and was lying on his back.'
The affidavit reports that in an initial statement, the resident 'indicated her estranged husband (Bobby Oliver) forced his way into the residence, kicked in the door to the bedroom, and shot her current boyfriend (Tevis Chess) several times.'
Detectives with MPD were called to the scene for further investigation, and during an interview with the resident, were informed that she had lived at the residence for a little over a month with her three children she shares with Oliver Jr. She also informed detectives that she moved to the residence during her separation from her Oliver Jr. and that over the past several weeks, she had begun dating Chess.
Officials reported that on February 11, Oliver Jr. took the resident's phone, acquired Chess's identity and phone number, and began making threatening statements toward Chess.
On February 14, the woman picked the children up from Oliver Jr.'s residence in Norman and returned to their home in Moore.
Around 6 P.M., Oliver Jr. called and spoke briefly with the children to tell them goodnight.
Around 6:45 P.M., Chess arrived at the residence to hang out with the woman, and shortly after began receiving a phone call from Oliver Jr., to which she declined.
After she declined the phone call, it was reported that her doorbell began ringing, which she believed to be Oliver Jr.
The affidavit further reported that she confirmed it was Oliver Jr., and he then began knocking on the windows.
The woman advised Chess to go to the back bedroom and lock the door. As she went to the front of the home, Oliver Jr. entered the home through the kitchen window and ran towards the back bedroom.
Officials reported that she saw him kick open the bedroom door and begin shooting into the bedroom. When she got to the back bedroom, she reportedly saw Oliver Jr. over Chess and kicking/stomping on his body.
Oliver Jr. then went into the children's bedroom, told them he loved them, and left the home.
Officials reported that while they were attempting to locate Oliver Jr., they were contacted by his father who said he had 'admitted to shooting someone and was currently at his father's house in Norman.'
Officers went to that location and were able to take Oliver Jr. into custody.
Oliver Jr. currently faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
Oliver Jr.'s bond is set at $3.5 million.
