BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) -- A Broken Arrow family is desperately searching for their French Bulldog.

But this isn't just another family pet, Gianni was set to compete at the Westminster Dog Show in New York City this weekend.

"He won the puppy national. So he's got a pretty good chance..Gianni from Broken Arrow winning something at Westminster," said Jan Laud, Gianni's owner.

Laub said he's been missing since Thursday after Gianni broke out of their fence to chase other dogs.

"We have a real need and hope that somebody's got him and taking care of him. And that it's not the alternative," said Laub.

Weeks leading up to dog shows they don't wear their collar, so there was no tag on Gianni.

"What we're hoping is that somebody has him in their home," said Laub.

While she said they're thankful if someone is taking care of him, they want him home.

"He is a part of the family . He's more a part of our family than a show dog or anything," said Laub.

There's signs all around Broken Arrow in hopes someone sees it, and knows where he is or returns him.

"I just want to hold him again. I do. He's got these darling little eyes. I think I'm just not going to let him go," said Laub.

Until then, they're just praying he's safe.
