Newly released body camera footage shows the moments a man opens fire on an officer responding to a call at a southeast Oklahoma City home.

The Oklahoma City Police Department has released the video that shows Officer Brandon McDonald on Feb. 1 responding to a trouble unknown call at a home at 15001 Barton Drive. McDonald can be seen walking past a van with its doors open before knocking on a side door of the home.

That's when 56-year-old William Young opens the door and begins firing at the officer. McDonald returned fire, and fatally struck Young. The man's brother, 55-year-old Robert Young, is then ordered out of the home and to the ground as McDonald waits for backup.

Inside the van, police found the body of William Young's wife, 51-year-old Jennifer Young. His daughter, 29-year-old Rebecca Johnson, was also found on scene and suffering from a gunshot wound. Johnson can be heard in the video asking officers to call an ambulance.

Robert Young was arrested and has been charged with first degree murder and kidnapping. McDonald was placed on administrative leave while the shooting was investigated. The shooting has been deemed justified.
