The pursuit ended south of Canute Friday afternoon when the man crashed and threatened officers with a gun.

Officers initially began looking for the man after reports indicated that he made threats at a local business in southeast Elk City. Reports also indicated that the man struck a couple on a motorcycle in that area causing them to crash.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says the incident is still under investigation and multiple agencies are involved.

“No officers were hurt in the shooting, and the suspect is deceased,” said Manning. “This office and others will release more information as it becomes available and appropriate to release.”
