Arrest made, victim identified in deadly southwest metro shooting

Police have released further details in the metro's 66th homicide of 2017.

Oklahoma City Police say 19-year-old Hunter Todd has been arrested and is being held in connection to the shooting death of 47-year-old Kevin Gipson.

Investigators say around 2 a.m. on Oct. 11, officers were called to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Kinkaid Dr. Responders found Gipson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

According to reports, police believe Todd was recklessly handling a firearm when he accidentally shot Gipson.

Todd was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of 1st degree manslaughter, marijuana possession and other various counts.
