OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Moore Public Schools officials announced that they have been made aware of a student who attended Moore High School for a couple of hours Wednesday morning and has since tested positive for COVID-19.
District officials said parents of the student contacted administrators Wednesday afternoon and made them aware of the student’s health situation.
“We ask our parents/guardians, students, and staff to continuously monitor their health and to not come to school if they are sick or have COVID-19,” the letter states.
Moore Public Schools nurses have completed tracing within the school to identify students and staff who may have been potentially exposed to the virus through close contact. A letter to parents states staff and students’ parents or guardians who were deemed in close contact have already been notified.
“In order for us to have some type of normalcy and continue with in-person education and events, we must continue to be accountable for our health and safeguard each other.”
District officials said they will continue to deep clean and disinfect classrooms and schools.
This would be the second student who tested positive since school began.
