Junior League partners with multiple organizations to host 'Family Fun Nights'
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
A local organization is partnering with multiple other organizations to promote health and wellness across the city.
This is the first year that the "Junior League" organization is partnering with the Oklahoma County Health Department, among other organizations to host "Family Fun Nights."
Amber Brock and Katie Davis with Junior League says this monthly event is necessary because health and wellness in this state has declined among adults.
"We're 45th on the scale and possibly lower this year," said Katie Davis on the state's ranking in obesity.
Davis went on to say that one in three people in Oklahoma are obese and the #1 cause of death among Oklahomans is cardiovascular.
If you go to one of these events, you will be given a ticket upon arrival. This ticket will get you a free sugar-free snow cone along with entry into a drawing for some cool prizes.
This event is held every third Thursday in the 2600 block of N.E. 63rd between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. For more information, click here.
