Whale-watchers in Argentina went looking for the world's biggest mammals. Instead, a whale watched them from below the surface.

According to the DailyMail, a 50 ton whale and its calves were just a few feet below the surface of a small tourist boat and its crew.

The boat is dwarfed by the massive mammal and could crush the vessel, if it wanted to. As the boat floated above the whale, diver and photographer Justin Hofman was in the water at the time and managed to capture the incredible moment.

The whales flock to the warm waters every year to raise their offspring.
