Severe thunderstorm chances across Oklahoma through Friday
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
There is an ENHANCED risk for severe weather today in west and northwest Oklahoma and a SLIGHT risk for severe thunderstorms in the Oklahoma City metro.
Two rounds of storms will impact the state Thursday. The first will move into west and northwest Oklahoma around 4 p.m., with storms possibly making it to the metro by 7 p.m. Another round of severe weather will move in after midnight through 6 a.m. Friday.
Damaging wind and very heavy rain are the biggest threats, with some small hail. Lightning and thunder will be widespread. There is very low risk for an isolated tornado within the slight risk areas. The flash flooding threat is high too.
Rain chances decrease Friday afternoon, but more storms are in the forecast late Friday night through Saturday.
