The Oklahoma men's basketball team received a five seed and will play North Dakota State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will tip at 6:27 Oklahoma time and will be played in Spokane, Washington.
"I think it's good. I'll be able to show everyone where to eat," is the way Sooner forward Ryan Spangler greeted the news. Spangler spent a season in Spokane as a member of the Gonzaga basketball team before transferring to Oklahoma.
If you're not familiar with North Dakota State its understandable but don't let that fool you because they're pretty good team. They have a 25-6 record and won the Summit League. They're a veteran team with four players scoring in double figures with 6-7 senior Taylor Braun leading the way at 18 points per game.
The Sooners are 23-9 with their latest loss coming in the second round of the Big 12 Championship where they came up short against Baylor. That's not the result OU head coach Lon Kruger was looking for but he does expect his team to bounce back.
"This group has learned from each experience through out the year. When they've won tough ballgames they've learned and progressed. When they've lost disappointing games I think they've learned from that as well."
Thursday's game is on Tru TV.
