Sooners prepare for KU

Oklahoma's men's basketball team opens Big 12 play with a bang. Saturday they won at Texas for the first time since 2005. Wednesday they welcome 18th ranked Kansas to Lloyd Noble Center.

Oklahoma comes into the game 12-2 overall while KU is 9-4. On paper the Jayhawks are loaded with future NBA Draft picks like Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid but they've gone just 4-4 in their last eight games. That includes a home loss to San Diego State Sunday.

Oklahoma still has great respect for the Jayhawks but they also see Wednesday's game as part of a big picture.

"If we can make progress week to week to week we feel good about playing our best basketball in March," said OU head coach Lon Kruger.

Even though Kansas is still searching for the right combination they have won 10 of the last 11 games against OU and they're the only Big 12 team that has a winning record against Oklahoma with a 139-65 series lead.

Oklahoma is the only Big 12 team to start the same starting five all season.
