Oklahoma completed a two game sweep of the Texas Longhorns in men's basketball with a 77-65 win in Norman. The win moved Oklahoma into a four way tie for second place in the Big 12. The Sooners are 10-6 in the league along with Iowa State, Kansas State and Texas.
The game was a contrast of the Sooners speed and skill vs the Longhorns size. Texas had three frontcourt players 6-8 or taller with 6-9 285 pound Cameron Ridley, 6-8 Jonathan Holmes and 6-11 Prince Ibeh presenting a daunting task for the Sooners. Texas won the rebounding battle 40-32 with Ridley scoring 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
But OU overcame the size difference with marksmenship from long range. The Sooners hit 10-25 from three point range. Buddy Hield had four of those three's and finished with 17 points. Isaiah Cousins scored 24 points and picked up three steals to lead OU, while Ryan Spangler grabbed 10 rebounds.
The win raised OU's overall record to 21-8.
