Sooner women come up short
The Oklahoma women's basketball team came up on the short end of a 76-75 loss to 23rd ranked West Virginia. Oklahoma led the game 44-33 at the half and had four players in double figure scoring with Aaryn Ellenberg leading the way with 18 points. They also had 10 steals and five blocks in the game but all those numbers couldn't overcome a West Virginia offense that was led by Bria Holmes, who had 19 points.
It's been a tougher than normal season for Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale. The Sooners are now just 15-10 overall and 6-6 in the Big 12. West Virginia raised its record to 21-3 and 10-2 in the league. It doesn't get any easier for the Sooners, who travel to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State Sunday afternoon.
