Former Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball player Richard Dumas was among 151 people arrested in Arizona for multiple theft cases. Dumas was arrested by U.S. Marshals near Phoenix on eight counts of organized retail theft. The alleged theft's occurred at an exchange store at Luke Air Force Base. Dumas allegedly stole about $800 worth of merchandise while working for a janitorial service.
Dumas was a star player in high school at Tulsa's Booker T Washington High School. He later played at Oklahoma State under Leonard Hamilton in the late 80's. He went on to play for the NBA's Phoenix Suns from 1992-95. He averaged 16 points per game during his rookie season and later played for the Suns in the 1993 NBA Finals.
Alcohol and drugs ended his basketball career prematurely.
