OSU Cowboys headed West

The Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team is headed to San Diego to play Gonzaga in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cowboys are a nine seed and could possibly play Oklahoma in the Sweet 16.

"As we told our team before it all got started you can't worry about where you're going or who you're playing. What time the game is, don't worry about the things you can't control," said OSU head coach Travis Ford. "This time last year we didn't have one guy who had NCAA experience. So hopefully with that experience our guys will have an understanding of what's going on around them."

Gonzaga has made 16 straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. They're 28-6 this season and are champions of the West Coast Conference. They have a nice inside outside combo with guards Kevin Pangos and David Stockton, son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton, doing the work on the perimeter. Sam Dower Jr. is a 6-9 post that averages 15 points and seven rebounds per game.

Gonzaga beat OSU in Stillwater last season 69-68. This week's game is set for Friday afternoon at 3:40 Oklahoma time on TNT.
