After winning last year's player of the year, Marcus Smart decided to return to Stillwater despite expectations of being a first-round draft pick. He didn't repeat as player of the year but he did land on the Associated Press first team.

The Associated Press selected its All-Big 12 men's basketball team for the 2013-14 season.

The OSU sophomore was selected as the lone Cowboy on the first team. Also on the All-Big 12 first team is Iowa State's DeAndre Kane, West Virginia's Juwan Staten, Iowa State's Melvin Ejim, and Kansas' Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins and Ejim were both unanimous selections.

Smart's teammate, senior Markel Brown, was named to the second team. Oklahoma's Buddy Hield was named to the second team as well.

Kansas' Joel Embiid, Kansas State's Marcus Foster, and Baylor's Cory Jefferson round out the second team.

Oklahoma's Cameron Clark and Ryan Spangler received honorable mention on the list while Sooner coach Lon Kruger won coach of the year.
