OK State punter named to Ray Guy Award watch list

Oklahoma State's standout punter is being named as a player to watch this upcoming season.

The Augusta Sports Council has named Zach Sinor to the preseason watch list for the 2017 Ray Guy Award, which is given annually to the nation's top punter.

Sinor is one of 29 punters in the country named to the preseason list.

Last season, Sinor was a semifinalist for the award and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors. Sinor led all FBS punters with 62.5 percent of his punts being downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. OSU ranked second in the nation allowing a stingy 15 punt return yards all season.

Ten semifinalists will be selected for the Ray Guy Award in November. The three finalists will be announced on Nov. 21 and the 2017 winner will be presented the award at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 7.
