Are the Cowboys done?

Is the season over for the OSU Cowboy basketball team? Yes they've got games left in the season but for a team that began the season highly ranked and in consideration for the Final Four it has been a rough ride lately.

The Cowboys have lost six games in a row. They're not ranked in the top 25 and wins over teams like Memphis earlier this season seem like years ago. Then you add in the fact that Monday's game at Baylor will once again be played without star guard Marcus Smart, who will serve the final game of his three game suspension. Things look bleak but Cowboy guard Markel Brown says there is hope.

"We've got a lot of time. We've got a lot of games. All we got to do is pick off a couple." Brown added, "Go to Baylor, a very winnable game. Play with our pride. Play with our heart."

From a pure numbers standpoint Brown is correct. The Cowboys have six games left in the regular season before the Big 12 Tournament in March. Games against Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State are among the six and if you can win one or two of those it would get the attention of the nation. But first things first which is Baylor Monday night. Both teams have been disappointing this season and their identical records of 16-9 overall and 4-8 in the Big 12 illustrates that.
