Day one of free agency brought no agreement's for new players for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Players and teams can talk but contracts can't be signed until July 10th.
One of the Thunder's biggest targets this summer will be Thunder backup guard Reggie Jackson. He's not a free agent but he is going into the final year of his rookie contract which means he's eligible to sign an extension this summer. The Thunder have until October 31st to sign Jackson to an extension. Otherwise they have to wait until the summer of 2015 to begin negotiations. He would be a restricted free agent, which means Oklahoma City could match any offer he gets and keep him. The problem with that is another team could offer him a deal for more than the Thunder want to pay.
In any case signing Jackson and keeping him off the market next summer becomes a priority this summer.
