Thunder blow 4th quarter lead, lose to Clippers 101-99
The Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 101-99 Sunday afternoon. The series is tied at 2-2 which is bad enough for the Thunder but the way they lost stings even worse. OKC led from the start. Sixty percent shooting in the first quarter along with Russell Westbrook's 11 points and Kevin Durant's 10 helped Oklahoma City to a lead as big as 22 points in the first quarter. It was a game where the Clippers trailed the entire way and were dead in the water until the fourth quarter. It was a fourth quarter where the Clippers put up 38 points and used a small lineup to slow up OKC's offense to get the win. "It's a tough loss but its a series. Its not like we're going home. It's 2-2," said Westbrook. "We're going home and take care of business." Thunder center Kendrick Perkins says the defense was lacking. "Wasn't no communication no attention to detail," said Perkins. From a numbers standpoint. Durant 40 points, Westbrook 27, sounds good but the most important is 101-99 LA the winner.
