Liggins back in the League
Former Oklahoma City Thunder guard DeAndre Liggins is back in the NBA. The Miami Heat signed Liggins to a ten day contract on Tuesday.
Liggins was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder but was released in September after he was charged with domestic abuse in the presence of a minor. He has been playing for Sioux Falls, which is the Miami Heat's D-League team.
Under NBA rules the Heat can sign Liggins to a second ten day contract but after that they must either sign him for the rest of the season or release him.
One other NBA note concerns former OU Sooner Tiny Gallon. The New York Knicks are close to giving him a shot in the league. Gallon plays for Delaware in the D-League and is averaging 18 points and 9 rebounds per game. The Knicks are close to giving Gallon a workout soon and may sign him to a contract.
Gallon reportedly turned down a chance to play in Spain where he would have made close to six figures for playing in their playoffs. He did so to continue his pursuit of an NBA job.
