Kevin Durant continues to work on first MVP Award
Most people who follow the NBA have Kevin Durant #1 and Lebron James #2 when it comes to the MVP race. After a fast start coming out of the All Star Break that featured a 61 point game Lebron James has cooled a bit. Meanwhile Kevin Durant has continued with consistent steller play.
That play includes a current run of 32 straight games where he's scored at least 25 points in a game. That includes Monday night's win over Chicago where Durant scored 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
"He's consistent regardless who's out or who's in. He plays his game. He does it every night," said Thunder guard Russell Westbrook.
As much as the media and fans talk about the run Durant's head coach Scott Brooks says it's not on Durant's mind.
"He's not worried about it. He's worried about playing hard, playing the correct way and finding way's to help his team win. He's an amazing leader."
Durant's next chance to stretch the string to 33 games is Thursday night when the Thunder play at Cleveland. tip time is 6:00.
