The Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers free agent Pau Gasol have reportedly been in discussions about the seven footer playing in Oklahoma City. Reports are Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and forward Kevin Durant spent time Wednesday talking to Gasol as did GM Sam Presti.
Gasol is an unrestricted free agent, who is also getting major interest from Chicago, Miami, New York along with the Lakers. Gasol made $19 million last season in L.A. and though he won't get that much per season anywhere next season if he comes to Oklahoma City the Thunder would have to clear salary cap space. Center Kendrick Perkins would be a likely starting point but others would have to be involved as well.
