ESPN: Thunder executive to become Clippers GM
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
The Oklahoma City Thunder may be losing one of their top executives to another Western Conference team.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported early Wednesday that Michael Winger has reached an agreement to become the new General Manager of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Winger, the 37-year-old assistant general manager, has spent the last seven seasons in Oklahoma City, working closely with Thunder GM Sam Presti. Prior to that, he spent five years working for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Clippers position became available after LA revamped its front office, removing Doc Rivers from the position and returning him to his full-time coaching role.
