Edmond Police Investigate Christmas Day Burglary at Goodwill

Edmond police say someone broke into the Goodwill on E. 15th street on Christmas Day.

Police say they were called to the store at 48 E. 15th on December 26th on a burglary call. According to the police report, a Goodwill Loss Prevention employee said a woman spent an hour inside the store, helping herself to multiple items.

The employee said the unidentified woman forced her way through the rear loading dock door. The employee told police the alarm sensors on the door do not work and the metal horizontal bar that is supposed to secure the door was lying on the floor inside the store. The door does not have an outside handle on it and police say the woman used a something sharp to pry it open.

After the woman was inside, police say she tried to break into the store's safe. Police say the safe and the metal handle and digital keypad had been broken off and they found a Phillips-head screwdriver and a flat-head screwdriver that had the tip broken off.

Police found another flat-head screwdriver lying between the vending machines at the store.

While police were investigating, they said another Goodwill employee was acting suspicious and following them from different areas to clean, rearrange, or loiter. An alarm company employee later told an officer the employee was showing an unusual interest in his actions as well.

The suspect is described as dark-haired, white female, wearing a white sweatshirt, dark pants, and brown boots.

Police are still investigating and anyone with information is asked to call the Edmond Police Department.Edmond Police Investigate Christmas Day Burglary at Goodwill
