Jason Lee Smith, 47, has been wanted on a complaint of making a false declaration of ownership to a pawnbroker in Oklahoma County since Dec. 14, 2016. Court records show Smith pawned a Toshiba Satellite computer he claimed to own. The computer was in fact stolen from a home Oct. 26, 2016 from a home in the 3900 block of Pearl Way in Del City.

"The issue is that he had property that wasn't his and he went into a pawn shop and said it was his and signed paperwork, documentation, saying that it was," Lt. Charles Avery with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said.

Del City police said Smith sold the computer to Cash America Pawn at I-240 and Western Ave. Although the computer was eventually recovered, police said it was a surprise to the homeowner and why the sheriff's office wants to find Smith.

"We obviously want to get Mr. Smith off the streets," Avery said. "He does have previous contact with law enforcement. This is just more of a reason we want to get him in custody this week."

Smith turned himself in to law enforcement on July 6.
