Survey: $18.2 billion expected to be spent on Easter
From colorful eggs to peeps to chocolate bunnies...This year's Easter spending binge is expected to be the second-highest on record.
That's from a survey by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights and Analytics.
Americans will spend an estimated 18.2 billion dollars on the holiday.
That's about 200-million dollars less than last year.
But the Retail Federation's president says the number still suggests a strong consumer confidence, which bodes well for the economy overall.
The top Easter shopping item is food, followed by clothing, gifts, candy, flowers, and decorations.
Easter and April Fools' Day both fall on the same day for the first time in 62 years, which means you might want to be careful with your Easter treats.
