Montana: Wildfire destroys historic park structure
Glacier National Park officials announced Thursday the main building at the Sperry Chalet was lost in the Sprague Fire.
The Sperry Chalet was built in 1913. The main buildings consisted a two story hotel building and a kitchen- dining room building.
Officials say high winds pushed the fire to the east.
While firefighters tried-- they could not save all of the buildings. No firefighters were hurt while battling the blaze.
Authorities believe that lightning is the cause.
