Minnesota: Lake Superior Zoo welcomes baby tamarin monkey
The Lake Superior Zoo is welcoming its newest bundle of joy to their family.
A baby cotton-top tamarin monkey was born at the beginning of October to parents Jasmine and Fang.
Cotton-tops are native to South America and, with bodies typically just six to seven inches long, they're among the smallest primates.
They're also critically endangered, with an estimated wild population of roughly 6,000.
Zookeepers don't yet know whether it's a boy or girl, and probably won't for weeks.
Once they do, they plan to hold a naming contest.
