Louisiana: Chemical plant fire sends fireball into sky
A large chemical plant fire erupted in Duson, Louisiana Thursday.
The massive fireball was caught on camera near the site of 'Flowchem' -- where the fire broke out.
Several explosions were also heard nearby.
Flowchem is an oilfield chemical provider that services companies across the gulf and U. S.
One of the chemicals -- xylene -- that contributed to this fire -- is found in cigarette smoke, gasoline, and airplane fuel.
A mandatory evacuation was issued Thursday for people and businesses one mile north of the facility.
The Department of Environmental Quality is testing the air before that order is lifted.
No injuries have been reported.
