Woman accused of international murder-for-hire plot arrested for obstruction
PONCA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) —
A woman charged in an international murder-for-hir plot has been arrested again in northern Oklahoma.
The Ponca City Police Department reports that Danielle Layman, 37, was arrested August 10 for obstruction. Layman was arrested as police assisted a state agency during a search. Police would not comment on what agency they were assisting.
Layman was booked into the Ponca City Jail on the municipal charge. She is accused of posting an ad to Craigslist titled "10 day gig overseas for amateur, competitive pay!". When meeting with an applicant for the position, she allegedly told them the job was for poisoning an Israeli taxi driver with ricin.
The applicant called the FBI following the meeting. The FBI later discovered that the target in the plot was Layman's ex-husband.
Layman was released on bond after being charged in federal court. The woman who Layman allegedly attempted to hire in the plot spoke to FOX 25 about the experience.
