Two dead following crash that sends semi into Lake Texoma
BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) —
Two people are dead following a crash that sent a semi into Lake Texoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that shortly before 2 p.m. June 21 a semi and a vehicle collided along the Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma that connects Marshall and Bryan counties. The crash sent the semi over the edge of the bridge, where it submerged in the water. The second vehicle then caught fire.
The Roosevelt Bridge is currently closed. All traffic is being detoured to SH-78.
The Department of Environmental Quality and a Hazardous Materials team is on scene to assess the submerged vehicle, which is leaking an "unknown spill".
The victims of the crash have not been identified at this time.
