TPD releases names of officers involved in deadly confrontation with wanted suspect

The Tulsa Police Department has released the names of the officer who struck and killed 21-year-old Madison Dickson with his patrol car Saturday.

Officer Jonathan Grafton reportedly ran over Dickson during the deadly confrontation with Dickson. Officer Kayla Johnson and Detective Ronnie Leatherman exchanged gunfire with Dickson, but no one was hit by gunfire from either side, according to police.

Dickson was wanted on at least six charges, including shooting with intent to kill, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle, attempted petit larceny and discharging a firearm in a public place. She was accused of shooting a woman at a south Tulsa Walgreens March 12 before shooting a man in midtown March 16.

Grafton, a 6-year-veteran of the department, is on paid administrative leave. Johnson is a 4-year-veteran of the department, and Leatherman has been with the department for 17 years. Johnson and Leatherman are not on leave.
