The man shot and killed by Logan County deputies Thursday has been identified.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Marion Lee Holliday, 64, was the suspect who officials say was the irate man walking in the roadway with a shotgun on April 20.

According to officials, when deputies arrived on scene near Simmons Road and Douglas Blvd, they were able to locate Holliday hiding behind some trees. After exchanging words, deputies say Holliday raised his shotgun to point it towards the deputies. At that time the deputies fired their weapons, shooting and killing Holliday.

Deputies say the reason for Holliday carrying the shotgun is unknown, as well as if he suffered from a mental illness.

The investigation is ongoing.
