Yukon school closing Wednesday due to flu outbreak
YUKON, Okla. —
One Yukon school will have a day off due to the flu going around.
Superintendent of Yukon, Dr. Jason Simeroth, confirmed that Central Elementary School will be closed Wednesday. According to Dr. Simeroth, the school had a 30% absentee rate due to the flu.
The school closing will give staff the chance to disinfect the classrooms and wipe down the buses.
School will resume at its normal time on Thursday.
A child cannot come back to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours.
