Red Flag Warning issued for most of west, central Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Fire danger is extreme Monday and Tuesday, due to gusty winds and low humidity.
A cold front moved through Monday morning, and behind it, winds will gust from the northwest over 50 mph. Strong winds combined with low humidity will cause fires to develop and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of central, north, and western Oklahoma. A Wind Advisory is in effect for central and Western Oklahoma Monday and Tuesday. Winds will be strong enough to cause downed tree limbs and possibly power outages. Please be careful!
Another windy day on Tuesday, possibly even stronger gusts than Monday, from the northwest over 50 mph. A Fire Weather Watch has already been issued for Tuesday, so fire danger will remain extreme.
Winds will be calmer on Wednesday, but still breezy from the northwest up to 25 mph.
