OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Oklahoma City police are searching for a suspect in a metro armed robbery.
Police say the robbery happened shortly after 8 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Dollar General near NW 23rd and Ann Arbor. An Oklahoma City Police Department reports shows the store had just opened and two employees were inside when a man entered and asked where the "hair grease" was. One of the employees led the man to the hair product aisle and the man began shopping. A few minutes later that man pulled out a large black handgun and ordered the employees on the ground.
The man then forced one of the employees to open the safe of the business. After taking the money inside, the suspect fled eastbound from the store to a nearby apartment complex.
The employees described the man as "nerdy" and "lanky". The man was wearing glasses at the time of the robbery and was approximately 35 to 45 years old. He stood approximately 6-feet, 3-inches and weighed around 200 pounds.
