Police: Man arrested after breaking into home, laying on top of sleeping boy
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Police arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a home and then laid on top of a young sleeping boy.
The Oklahoma City Police Department reports that Shawn Brittain, 21, was arrested Oct. 22 on a complaint of burglary in the first degree.
Police reports show that just before 4 a.m. Oct. 22 officers were notified of a break in at a home at 4012 S. Hudson. The calling party told police that at the time of the break-in a woman, her 21-year-old daughter, a 10-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy were in the home.
The woman stated she woke up to a man lying on top of the 7-year-old boy in his bed. She attempted to pull the man off the boy but was pushed away. Both the woman and the 21-year-old then attempted to pull the man off the boy who then got up and walked to a hallway in the home. The man then grabbed a statue and began "waving it around wildly".
The victims then dialed 911. The man reportedly heard three numbers on the phone being dialed and told the victims to get him a knife because he was going to kill them. Shortly after officers arrived on scene. When police found the man, later identified as Brittain, he had lacerations on his face and knee and had blood on his arms and hands.
Brittain was then arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
