Police: Man wanted after attempting to sexually assault teenager in Stillwater

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who police say attempted to sexually assault a teenager in Stillwater.

Stillwater Police Department Captain Kyle Gibbs reports that police are on the hunt for 26-year-old Kwamain Quantay Baker.

The warrant comes in connection to two incidents that police believe Baker is responsible. The first incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20 after a female college student called police to report a man had followed her home to her apartment and was banging on her door.

The man was asked to leave the apartment complex and warned that he would be arrested for trespassing if he came back.

Around 9:40 a.m. Feb. 21, police were notified by a 15-year-old girl that she was outside the public library waiting for it to open when she was approached by a man. When she left the library, the man allegedly followed her and began making sexual comments. Gibbs says the man then attempted to touch the girl. The teenager was able to flee the man and contacted police.

Police believe Baker is responsible for both incidents. He is wanted for lewd acts with a child under 16. He is described by police as 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Stillwater Police Department at 405-372-4171.
