One dead, one arrested following Enid stabbing
Police say that a woman died following a stabbing Tuesday in Enid.
Enid Police Department Captain Tim Jacobi reports that at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 16 police were called to a stabbing in the 300 block of E. Cedar. On scene, authorities found Maria Giffin, 39, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Giffin was transported to the hospital, where she later died. An investigation led police to learn that Giffin was confronted at the home by 37-year-old Katisha Zuniga. A verbal altercation about a cell phone turned physical and Zuniga allegedly stabbed the woman several times before fleeing.
Zuniga was arrested at approximately 10:21 p.m. in the 2800 block of E. Eucalyptus. She faces a complaint of second degree murder.
