Oklahoma County Jail inmate dies after complaining of shortness of breath

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says an Oklahoma County Jail inmate died Monday.

According to Mark Opgrande, Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office spokesman, 34-year-old Antoinne Ellis died Oct. 5. Ellis complained of shortness of breath while in the day room at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Ellis was tended to by medical staff and then transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Ellis was booked into jail Aug. 18 on a trafficking cocaine complaint.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
