OKCPD: Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting, 2nd body found at scene
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Police in Oklahoma City are looking into what led up to a fatal officer-involved shooting.
According to police, an officer was called to the 1500 block of Barton Dr., near Peebly Rd. and SE 149th St., for a "trouble unknown" call around 3 a.m. Thursday. Police say when the officer arrived on-scene, 56-year-old William Young began shooting at them from inside a home.
The officer returned fire striking Young, who was then pronounced dead at the scene.
OKCPD says its officer, identified as Brandon McDonald, was not injured.
Police on-scene investigating say another body has been found at the scene. That person is believed to have died before officers arrived. Several people being described as "witnesses" are speaking with police.
Officials say Officer McDonald has been placed on paid administrative leave. McDonald has spent two-and-a-half years with the department.
This is Oklahoma City's second officer-involved shooting of 2018.
