OKCPS to select next superintendent
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
The state's largest school district will select its next superintendent Tuesday afternoon.
The Oklahoma City Public School Board of Education has called a special meeting to vote on a new superintendent. The new leader will replace Aurora Lora, who abruptly resigned earlier in 2018.
Rebecca Kaye has served as interim superintendent since Lora's resignation.
The board appointed a four member committee to work with the School Boards Association to find a new leader. The district has seen 12 superintendents in the last 18 years.
The board is schedule to meet at 4 p.m. at Northeast Academy and will hold a public vote to confirm their selection. There will then be a short press conference introducing the new superintendent.
