Officials: Woman killed in two-car wreck in far east Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
A person is dead after a two-car crash in the east metro.
Oklahoma City fire crews say the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Wilshire and Westminster. Officials confirm a woman inside one of the vehicles was ejected.
EMSA crews performed CPR at the scene but the woman was pronounced dead on scene. Officials on-scene initially listed the victim in critical condition, but then told FOX 25 a fatal accident unit was en route to the scene.
Police said the woman was driving a pickup headed west on Wilshire and ran a stop sign. A red Mustang was headed north on Westminster and the two collided. That red Mustang was lodged into the trees. Investigators confirm the truck rolled at least once.
A couple told FOX 25 they were headed back home to pick something up when they noticed a white pickup truck smoking, saying it look like an accident just happened. They noticed a woman laying on the ground next to the pickup.
"We just, wanting her to make it. She's young. We don't know how old she is. We don't know who she is, but she's somebody's somebody," said Milton Williams.
Officials are still looking into the cause of that crash.
