Trump administration names OKC fire chief to Dept. of Homeland Security

The Oklahoma City Fire Department's chief now has a new job.

According to a release from the White House on Thursday, Chief G. Keith Bryant was named as the Administrator of the United States Fire Administration at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security.

OKC fire officials say no timetable has been established for Chief Bryant's retirement from the department or his date to report to Washington, D.C.

Chief Bryant is the past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), past president of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, and past president of the Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association (OFCA).

OKCFD officials say more details will be made available as they're received.
