Norman man dies after four car crash


The Norman Police Department is investigating a crash that led to the death of a Norman man.

The crash happened yesterday, Dec. 13, at 5:35 p.m. in the 900 block of West Robinson Street.

85-year-old, James Swaner, was driving his Mercury Marquis when he suffered a medical episode that made him unconscious.

After he became unconscious, his car rear-ended two other cars and then stopped in the center line of the roadway. When his car stopped, he was hit head on by a Dodge Ram Truck.

Swaner was transported to a local hospital but died due to his injuries.

None of the other three drivers were hurt in this crash.

NPD and OUPD are still investigating the collision.
